An invitation into your own reflection, wherever you are.

Every month this past year, we gathered sometimes ten, sometimes thirty, always enough for brafe.tuesdays. Together, we made space for questions that don’t demand answers but open us instead. We met uncertainty, fatigue, insight, resistance, vision and most importantly each other.

Today, we open this practice beyond the Square - into your living room.

Will it be the same as in community, no. And we will give the format a little twist so you can just simply do it with yourself. Since this is often where it all starts - being good company to yourself. This post is an invitation for you, wherever you may be reading, to slow down and create space for yourself.

arrive in yourself

Find a quiet space. Pause. Close your eyes or soften your gaze. Let yourself breathe deeply, slowly, intentionally.

Bring your awareness into your body: notice your weight, your breath, any tension or ease.
Bring your awareness into your heart: what are you feeling today? Can you name it gently?
Bring your awareness into your mind: what thoughts or loops are running? You don’t have to stop them, just notice.

Let this gentle presence stretch out a little longer than you’re used to. Let slowness take root.

let resonance lead

Now that you’ve arrived in yourself, gently open to the next layer: What’s alive for you right now?

Below you’ll find a constellation of themes and reflection prompts: questions that have guided our brafe.tuesdays in the past. These aren’t to be “answered.” They’re meant to stir. To soften. To open something beneath the surface.

Let yourself feel into them and choose one that feels just close enough to touch, and just far enough to be worth the reaching.

Bodies in Business

  • Where do I notice my body asking for space in my day-to-day work?

  • What beliefs do I carry about what a ‘productive’ body should be or do and where did I learn them?

Navigating Doubt

  • Where in my work or relationships am I quietly unsure right now?

  • What story do I tell about doubt and cracks in my certainty? Who am I not knowing the way foreward?

Outpacing the World

  • Where do I feel the urgency to be further ahead than I am?

  • What deeper fear or identity might I be trying to escape by moving faster / or am I not good enough when not catching up? For whom?

The Quality of Connection

  • What kind of connections have felt most nourishing lately?

  • What assumptions shape the way I “do” connection and what might lie beneath them? Are they merely transactional, shallow, deep or unconditional?

The Solitude of Vision

  • Where do I feel alone in what I see or hold? How does this make me feel?

  • What meaning do I attach to being “the only one who sees” and what does that protect?

Living in Cycles

  • Which personal or natural rhythms feel most disrupted in my life right now?

  • Where did I learn to tune in or ignore intuitive rhythms in my life and at which costs?

Privilege & Connection

  • When have I pulled back from connection because of discomfort or difference?

  • What does privilege mean to me in my body and what story does it reinforce? How much do I resist or accept it and why?

Power & Money

  • How do I behave differently when money enters a relationship?

  • What meaning and dynamics do I attach to money?—and what might that reveal about myself?

Who Owns My Time?

  • Where do I feel most free, and least free—in how I spend my time?

  • What idea of worth or belonging am I enacting through the way I fill my calendar?

The Relentless Quest

  • Where do I feel I must prove myself right now?

  • What core identity am I protecting by staying on this path—and what if that story loosened?

Endings & Letting Go

  • What feels complete, but remains unspoken or unfinished?

  • What have I made endings mean about me—and what if they meant something else?

empty & explore

Get a piece of paper and a pen. Set a timer for 7 minutes.

There is one important rule: you stay with yourself. your experiences, your feelings, your perspectives. Do not get caught up in the words of others, in generalizations or opinions about the topic. This is only about you.

Split your time in two phases:

Phase 1: Empty the Story (3min)
Let your pen or keys pour out the current story you tell about this topic. What are your beliefs, assumptions, frustrations, or habits? What loops have you been living in?

You might notice that this starting time gives you the option to get rid of the story you've formed in your head. In the end we want to sound smart and make sense - even in front of ourselves. So now that this story is out of your way - lets go deeper.

Phase 2: Step Into the Unknown (4min)
Now soften. Let go of knowing. Ask: What’s wanting to be seen that I normally ignore?
Don’t try to make sense and start writing freely.

Let your words surprise you. Let yourself not know, and see what emerges. Be incomplete, be messy, be you as you are right now.

close gently

Stop writing when your timer ends. Sit back. Place one hand on your heart, or belly, or wherever it feels comforting.
Notice how you feel now. Has something softened? Opened? Awakened? You needn’t summarize or solve anything.

Just notice. Breathe. And, if helpful, jot down a word or phrase that struck you.

and so, you've had a little brafe.tuesday

maybe just on a Friday, all by yourself. We’ve found that when we move into these type of reflections, even asynchronously, across space, something shifts. You’re not alone in this questioning as these themes live in many of us. This process can be tender, stirring, revelatory. What you’ve done is real work. It’s the kind that doesn’t ask for productivity, but presence.

So thank you for just having created a little space for yourself. I hope you can hold onto it for a bit.

Big hugs.

It continues to fascinate me how brafe.space brings such beautiful complexity into my life. From confronting thoughts about power and money being held by the same people, to the experience of listening to Susan O'Neil by a bonfire, holding my son, and being hugged by my dear friend Lisa.
